Having previously served as the State of Maine Chief Procurement Officer, I collaborated with Mohawk Lifts in Amsterdam, NY.

Specializing in a range of vehicle lifts, from cars to industrial fleet lifts, Mohawk takes pride in its commitment to superior customer service and the use of American steel in manufacturing.

Their dedication to quality, durability, and being a US-based company positions Mohawk Lifts as an ideal partner for government agencies seeking reliable solutions.

To Whom it May Concern:

Below please find information related to my experience with Mohawk Lifts:

  • I served as a Senior Statewide Contracting Officer for the State of Alaska from 2003 – 2013 and was appointed Chief Procurement Officer for the State of Alaska, serving in that capacity from 2013 – 2019.
  • In 2006, I executed a Participating Addendum with Mohawk Lifts under a cooperative contract led by the State of Washington as part of the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA).
  • I directly administered this statewide agreement from 2006 – 2013. It was used by State of Alaska agencies as well as local governments around the state. During this time, there were no substantive issues that required my attention or intervention to resolve.
  • During my time as Chief Procurement Officer, from 2013 – 2019, while I did not directly administer the agreement, there were no substantive issues escalated to my office by the contract administrator.
  • Generally speaking, in public procurement the absence of feedback relating to an agreement is a positive indicator of the supplier’s performance under the terms of the agreement. (“No news is good news.”)
  • Over the years, I attended several NASPO Exchange events, which aim to bring procurement staff and suppliers together in a way that encourages idea sharing and communication. Mohawk Lifts was a frequent presenter, engaging new suppliers and helping them learn how to interact with state governments.
  • Lastly, in each of the iterations of the vehicle lifts cooperative contract portfolio, Mohawk Lifts has consistently sought and executed more participating addenda with states than other competing contractors in the portfolio. This indicates a broad communication and marketing effort related to the contracts Mohawk Lifts has held.

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

SUBJECT: Statement of Fact Regarding the Mohawk Lift LLC.

The purpose of this memo is to state the facts, regarding the quality of product and service provided by the Mohawk Lift Company. This Maintenance Activity, currently has four different Mohawk Automotive/HD Lifts in use. These models include the TP 15 (4ea), TR 33 (1ea), 75 35F (1ea) and MP 16464 AFT (1ea). The mentioned models have lift capacities that range from 15,000-75,000 lbs.

The majority of these lifts have been in use for over 15 years. Since the inception of these lifting devices, this Activity has had zero lost time incidents, while lifting medium to heavy duty vehicles/equipment, on a daily basis.

In accordance with local shop policy, Annual Inspections of these lifts are performed by an independent lift inspection company. These inspections have yielded only minor, “on the spot corrections,” contributing to a zero interruption in mission/customer service.

The service and expertise provided by the Mohawk Lift Company while making decisions on specific products was extensive. The company was able to modify portions of their product to meet the existing space in our building. This saved the government both time and cost of building modifications.

Due to the quality and reliability of the product, our higher Command installed Mohawk Lift products in five other Facilities within our region. Some of these Facilities recently moved to newly constructed buildings and had their Mohawk lifts un-installed and moved with them.

If there are any questions regarding the quality, reliability or service of the Mohawk Lift Company, please feel free to contact me at eric.m.adams3.civ@gmail.com or (518) 355-0425.

Reference for Mohawk Resources

The State of New Hampshire has done business with Mohawk Resources for my 19 years of state service and approximately 10 years when I was in the private sector.

I am pleased to refer them as an outstanding company who conducts their business in a conscientious manner. There has never been an unresolved dispute in all these years.

Mohawk Resources comes with my highest recommendation.

The State of NH was also a participant in the multi-state vehicle lift contract through NASPO. Agencies such as NH Department of Transportation, Department of Corrections, Department of Fish and Game & NH political subdivisions used this contract. The State of New Hampshire will sign another participating addendum when the award is made.

Thank you.

Subject: Vehicle Lifts

The City of Oneonta purchased and installed a Mohawk 76,000 lb. above ground drive on lift in 1997 when the FTA funded a new garage extension for our bus fleet. It has been used daily since that time with just minimal routine maintenance. The few times a part was needed they were here the next day and always available. We have never experienced a mechanical failure where we were without the lift.

We use the lift for 40 ft. buses, three axle fire, ladder and dump trucks, and smaller vehicles all without incident.

In 2007, we had a major flood with chest deep water in the garage. We simply had to replace the electronic switches, drain the hydraulic lines and pumps (which still showed no evidence of water intrusion) and were back in business by the end of the first day FEMA released the building back to us. Mohawk Lifts came down early that morning and were outstanding in getting its lift back on line. We are forever grateful for their help that awful summer.

We are currently replacing the lift as it is 20 years old and we have garage floor issues we need to address, and have decided to go with Mohawk portable above ground lifts because of the flexibility they provide.

Sincerely,
Paul T. Patterson

STATEMENT OF FACT

As you know for the past 10 plus years, we have been purchasing you Mohawk Mobile Lifts. It has ranged from two, four and six post sets. Recently, DelDOT had an urgent need to acquire three sets of six columns per set for three of our maintenance locations that has no means of raising our heavy duty trucks to perform appropriate maintenance. However, as your organization has many time in the past, listened to our needs and fully understood our criticality. After you consulted with your manufacturing you advised us they could meet our critical date of June 10, 2015. This effort was considerably sooner than your standard lead time. We did not get the PO to Mohawk until May 13th and we received all three sets on June 9, 2015.

Steve, I am very appreciative of your assistance, and I want to thank you for taking the extreme action within your organization to meet our critical needs. Making delivery within four weeks vs your standard lead time is nothing more than absolute fantastic customer service and performance. This, of course, stands out as an extreme effort. However, Mohawk has always provided excellent customer service and superb technical support to us whenever needed by our maintenance shop personnel. As the ole saying goes with slight modification,

“YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY”

In addition to the excellent customer service provided to DelDOT, Mohawk’s product stands out in the industry as high quality with very little if any service or operational problems. In fact, most of our shops now have your lifts. Also, there was a time our concrete was inadequate to safely bolt down 2 post lifts, yet taking DelDOT’s need into consideration, Mohawk modified the lifts to save DelDOT thousands, so we didn’t need to pour new concrete floors.

Mohawk’s quick action has allowed three of our maintenance sites to provide our fleet maintenance crews to work much more efficiently and productively with the appropriate equipment.

When we have our next need, I look forward to working with you and your organization.
